mission: creating affordable, high-quality afterschool programs for under-resourced youth, that connect the whole city to schools,
so every child and family can flourish.

Imagine all sectors of the city connected to Seattle Public Schools

We focus on making three key connections that can make Seattle a city of extreme generosity.

We connect students to the academic and enrichment resources they need to succeed by providing affordable, high-quality afterschool programing.

We connect organizations across all sectors of the city (e.g. businesses, healthcare, arts, and technology, etc.) to their nearest public school. When these "tables" gather around the needs of kids, they make a BIG impact.

We connect churches to schools creating long-term partnerships. Local churches love their neighbors and serve in sacrificial ways. Churches and schools are natural partners pursuing love, justice and the common good of the city.

History

School Connect WA (est. 2022) was birthed out of the community development work of Seattle Chinese Alliance Church’s ministry to Pan-Asian immigrants on Beacon Hill and South Seattle.  Since 2004 the church has partnered with Dearborn Park International Elementary School providing a full complement of wrap-around services including a high-achievement, low-cost, full-week elementary afterschool program from 2010-2017 serving 40-50 low-income, largely immigrant, BIPOC students each year.
